"I arrived for the Programme, not knowing anyone, with little confidence and unsure if ‘this was really for me.’ Then I was greeted by the friendly grinning faces of the Streetdance teacher trainers who would go on to support my journey of becoming a fantastic streetdance teacher! On the first day we were asked to introduce ourselves and say what we hoped to achieve during the week. We were also asked to specify any things we would like to improve on. For me it was my voice: the volume and annunciation, something I had little confidence in. I was supported during the whole week by the Streetdance teacher trainers who incorporated specific tasks that really made me think about using my vocals. I saw a huge difference in myself from when I first stepped into the studio doors at the beginning of the week and this was also supported by others giving me the same feedback. The intense Streetdance teacher training Programme looked at every aspect of making me a fantastic street dance teacher. It incorporated teaching techniques, which enabled me to gain a good understanding of the importance of how students individually learn, from visuals, audios and kinaesthetic learners.
